29 Moor Road

29 Moor Road is in Headingley, which is about 2- 3 miles from the centre of Leeds.

There are lots of things to do in the area and there plenty of buses and a local train station.

There are 6 children living at Moor Road, boys and girls, aged between 11 and 17.  All the children have their own room.  There are also 2 sleepover rooms for staff

Facilites include the use of T.V. - video play station – DVD player – lounge, bicycles, board and table games, a range of books, table for drawing and painting - recreational outdoor activities.

During their stay at the home children / young people should:

be treated with respect and encouraged to respect others
experience a response to their individual needs from reliable adults
develop an understanding of their own situation and family history
be able to express their wishes and participate in planning for their own future
           be provided with appropriate education

The home is provided by Catholic Care as a children’s home, with Leeds as the assisting authority.

There is a House Committee for the home on which the local authority is represented by members and an officer.

The day-to-day management of the home is the responsibility of the Home Manager, who is accountable to the Care Services Manager (Children).
