It was a period of calm in what otherwise had been a stormy week and the sun shone brightly on Friday evening, 9th June, as the people we provide a service to, staff, family, Trustees and friends gathered in our garden at Headingley to enjoy a fish and chip supper.
This year came with a difference as we were joined by steel pan bands to entertain us for the evening. Pupils from Garforth Academy who play in Panic Attack followed by an adult band called Steel Crazy played an ensemble of tunes which got feet tapping and even some dance steps. The tombola and raffle were as popular as ever and the children were entertained by some old fashioned garden fete games which proved irresistible.
The fish and chips were delicious and were accompanied by fresh strawberries and chocolate cake, just the ticket for a summer Friday evening.
In total £361 was raised on the evening but most importantly everyone had a great time and are already looking forward to next year.
