On 5th June 2015 Catholic Care organised a Hog Roast evening from 4pm to 7pm on the Head office lawn in the grounds of Hinsley hall.
It was a wonderful fundraising occasion whereby staff, family and friends, service users and looked after children gathered together for roast pork served with stuffing and apple sauce on a bread bap and a plate garnished with a salad. There were also vegetarian options of Leek and Wensleydale cheese tart and Mushroom Quiche.
Dessert of delicious fresh Strawberries and Cream was served by staff and children from the Leeds Children’s home.
The food was enjoyed by all with a glass of wine or soft drink from the complementary drinks bar paid for by donations.
The garden was set up with Gazebo’s tables and chairs and had a range of stalls including some excellent donated raffle prizes including Laurent Perrier Pink Champagne and a very special decorated cake amongst other special prizes. The tombola stall had various donated items and was very popular and raised the most funds. There was also ‘name the pig’, a delicious cake stall of specially made cakes donated for the event.
The weather was kind and remained sunny most of the day with just a few clouds but no rain.
The feedback from the event was that it was enjoyed by all.
