Over the years many have remembered Catholic Care in their will and we are deeply grateful for all contributions which support the Society's continuing work.

If you die without making a will, the law decides how your estate will be distributed. Those you wished to benefit may receive nothing at all. Making a will gives you the peace of mind that your assets will be distributed as you would wish.

Making a will is simple, but to make it easier we recommend that you contact a solicitor (we can even help you find a solicitor).

Unlike other bequests you make, gifts to a Charity are exempt from:

• Inheritance Tax
• Capital Gains Tax
• Income Tax

Below are samples of wording that may help:

For a pecuniary legacy (leaving a specific sum)
I give to Catholic Care (Diocese of Leeds) of 11 North Grange Road, Headingley, Leeds, LS6 2BR, the sum of £xxx free of duty, such sum to be applied to the general purposes of the Charity, and I direct that a receipt of the Treasurer or other authorised officer for the time being of the Charity, shall be a good and sufficient discharge to my executors.

For a residuary legacy (leaves the balance of your estate after your other legacies have been honoured)
I give and bequeath all the residue of my estate OR one (fraction) share of the residue of my estate absolutely to Catholic Care (Diocese of Leeds) of 11 North Grange Road, Headingley, Leeds, LS6 2BR, such a sum to be applied to the general purposes of the Charity and I direct that a receipt of the Treasurer or other authorised officer for the time being of the Charity, shall be a good and sufficient discharge to my executors.

Mission and Values

Catholic Care is a charitable organisation working on behalf of the diocese of Leeds. It offers a variety of services and support not only to the Catholic population, but also to the wider community as a whole.

Catholic Care acts to support those in need of its services, especiallly the weak and the vunerable and it acts as an advocate for those unable to represent themselves

The primary purpose of the agency is to foster and influence a vision of how people can live together in Christian charity, love and justice, by taking the "Caring Church into the Community
