Many dedicated volunteers deliver or contribute to services that help older people live fulfilling lives. They also make a big difference to their communities.
Whatever your reasons for volunteering, we would love you to join us.
Catholic Care is recruiting volunteers to assist in their older people’s community groups. The groups that we currently run are:
Huddersfield (lunch clubs)
Thursday Friends 9.30 a.m. – 2.00 p.m.
Friday Friends 9.30 a.m. – 2.00 p.m.
Wakefield (gentle exercise groups)
Monday Friends 10.00 a.m. – 12.30 p.m.
Wednesday 1.00 p.m. – 4.00 p.m.
Wetherby (exercise class)
Thursday Mature Movers 1.00 p.m. – 4.00 p.m.
Harrogate (lunch club)
Wednesdays (monthly) 12 noon – 2.00 p.m.
Each group has its own unique character and volunteers may be asked to assist in various ways from food preparation to facilitation of activities. Above all we ask our volunteers to interact with and befriend the people attending the groups.
Do you have:
- Good communication skills
- Ability to be at ease with people with memory difficulties
- An interest in people.
