What We Do
Who Do We Care For - A Directory Of Services

Who do we care forChildren's Residential Services
We have two children's homes in Leeds and Bradford, that offer medium to long term care for children and young people who can no longer live with their own families for a variety of reasons.

Supported Living For Adults With Learning Disabilities
There are three residential homes and seven supported living services in Skipton, Bingley, Dewsbury, Todmorden, Keighley, Brighouse and Leeds.  Each of the homes has a different and unique character, but we hope that all have a very welcoming and friendly atmosphere.

Supported Housing For Adults With Mental Health Issues
We have four supported housing schemes for people with mental health difficulties in Leeds, Bradford and Sowerby Bridge. The projects offer self-contained accommodation with communal facilities and on-site professional support

Social Work : Schools And Community
A school and parish based social work service providing advice, support and counselling for children, young people and their families, as well as support to teaching staff. Our team of ten work in 42 primary schools, 15 high schools and colleges, as well as parishes and the community.

Adoption
We are the longest established adoption agency in the area. The Catholic Church in Leeds has cared for children disadvantaged by separation from their birth parents since 1865. We have been directly involved in placing children for adoption since 1926 when the first Adoption Act made it legally possible to adopt children. Our adoption service emerged as a part of these early services and became regularised through state legislation and registration in 1943. Catholic Care (Diocese of Leeds) formalised its own governance directly as a result of Adoption legislation requirements. Catholic Care (Diocese of Leeds) has been a registered voluntary adoption agency since then.

Community Development Services
The Community Development Service offers support to the development of community based projects in partnership with other organisations and charities. We support vulnerable and marginalised people through the provision of refuge, hospitality and basic foods and clothing in partnership with other organisations and charities.

Older People's Services
The Huddersfield Deanery Project aims to promote the practical, social and spiritual well-being of older people in the area of the Roman Catholic Deanery of Huddersfield. The Project deals with concerns of older people especially those arising from loneliness and isolation by offering direct or indirect help.
