The Home is a large bungalow that sits in its own grounds; it has magnificent views of the surrounding Pennine hills, and it's situated close to Todmorden centre which has bus and rail links to surrounding areas.
The house has a total of five bedrooms one of which is a guest bedroom used by support workers for over night stays. It has a large communal lounge dining room; kitchen; bathroom; shower room; a separate WC and a large laundry area.
The service provides a person centered focus. Tenants are encouraged and supported to be as independent as they are able in all areas of their lives.
Support is provided to access a wide range of services in the local community such as further education; employment; social and leisure activities and attending medical appointments (e.g. doctors; dentist; opticians and specialist).
We aim to provide a nutritious well balanced diet. Tenants are supported to devise menus; carry out the weekly food shop and prepare meals. All staff involved in food preparation hold the basic food hygiene certificate.
We work closely with families; advocates and other professionals including The Commissions for Social Care Inspections; social workers and care managers to provide a high quality of support.
Family and friends are free to visit following the acknowledgement of the tenants and inline with the visitor's agreement which has been drawn up by the tenants.
Each tenant had a personal plan worker whom ensures they have a P.C.P in place. Tenants occupy a single room, which they can decorate and finish to their personal taste and needs.
The current age range of tenants is between 47 - 72 with and even mix of male and females.
Staffing
We have eight members of staff working full/ part time, over 24hrs.
