Our four Supported Housing Projects provide long term homes for thirty seven people with enduring, moderate to severe mental health problems. We work in partnership with three housing associations, and Community Mental Health and Rehabilitation Support Teams.
The four schemes continue to flourish thanks to the hard work and dedication of the staff team who ensure the high standards we aspire to be achieved. The aim is to enable people to live full, independent lives in a comfortable and safe environment with a focus in maintaining good mental health and the prevention of relapse and subsequent hospital admissions.
All our tenants are encouraged to have a programme of activities. A number attend college and do voluntary work. A recent survey of all our tenants indicated that the majority were very happy with our service and a comment which was echoed over and over was that people like the privacy and independence of having their own flat but with the opportunity to mix and socialise in the communal areas, and the availability of staff to talk over their problems with.
Social activities are an important part of our work, as tenants are often shy or unsure about going out.
Tenants also describe the support from staff as being "just right" in that staff are available office hours Monday to Friday, with an emergency on-call system at weekends.
The small staff team are dedicated to the work and go out of their way to ensure tenants are supported to reach their full potential.
